Business Auto Insurance in Dallas, TX
Business (or Commercial) Auto Insurance can cover a single auto used by a business or a fleet of vehicles owned and operated by a business.
The Commercial Auto policy is sometimes referred to as a Business Auto Policy and provides: Bodily Injury Liability, Property Damage Liability, Medical Payments, Personal Injury Protection (PIP), Uninsured Motorist and Underinsured Motorist as well as first party coverage for damage to your auto including Collision, Comprehensive or Specified Causes of Loss. The auto policy can also include Towing, Rental Reimbursement and Drive Other Car Coverage.
Hired and Non Owned (HNO) Auto liability is an important coverage that can be endorsed to your Commercial Auto policy. Employee Non Owned auto insurance coverage protects and defends the company in the event an employee uses his personal vehicle for company business and injuries a third party. HNO auto liability does not protect the employee who owns the auto, but the employer who is named insured on the Commercial Auto policy with HNO coverage.
Hired auto coverage covers cars you lease, hire, rent, or borrow except autos borrowed from your employee. The most common Hired auto is a vehicle rented from a rental car company such as Enterprise, Hertz or Avis. If you are renting the vehicle, you should also add Hired Car Physical Damage so that you can cover direct damage to the vehicle itself including collision, vandalism or theft.
If you are the owner of a business and have a Commercial Auto policy, but do not have a Personal Auto Policy, you may need to purchase Drive Other Car Coverage to provide coverage for vehicles borrowed from a friend.
